Have you ever felt frustrated by drawings that just don’t turn out the way you imagine? Is that sketchbook from years ago still waiting to be filled? Whether you’re new to drawing or a seasoned creator, a little guidance can make a big difference.
Each session is designed to build confidence and strengthen foundational skills, helping you draw with greater clarity and purpose. Instruction is tailored to your experience level and personal goals, ensuring that every artist gains valuable insights, no matter where they are on their creative journey.
Artists will learn:

Practical techniques for building a drawing from the ground up

Composition, shading, perspective, and other essential skills

How to select and work effectively from references

Methods for bringing imaginative ideas to life on the page
What to bring:
Your questions, creative ideas, a sketchbook of your choice, and a favorite pencil or pen. Additional drawing materials will be provided.

About the Instructor:
Jared is the Scenic Charge Artist at Riverside Center for the Performing Arts. He also volunteers with Fredericksburg Theatre Ensemble as a costume designer, illustrator, and performer. Working across multiple mediums for visual storytelling, Jared’s primary creative tool remains his sketchbook.
