History

Founded in 2002 by famed local potter Dan Finnegan, LibertyTown Arts Workshop changed hands in July 2013. The new husband and wife duo of Dolores and Kenneth Lecky are both artists in their own right (a potter and a photographer). The two met while attending UVA in 2002 and bonded over their love of art and science…and dogs ( they have three!).

They are working hard to add new classes, revamp the courtyard and paint a huge mural on the back of the building!

Fun Fact: The building that houses our 40+ artists was once the plumbing annex of the Fredericksburg Hardware store…and we have the kooky floor tiles and wall sconces to prove it!
