Emily Pawlica is an interdisciplinary artist whose focus is ceramics. Her work explores the balance between form and function; through a variety of traditional ceramics techniques and new practices she creates everyday wares and figurative sculptures. The intimacy of simple and everyday moments find their permanent place in the world and in her work, “my intention is simple – to slow down, and find purpose in each moment and relationship, and to preserve these memories as best I can through the mediums that make me feel the most like myself.”
Emily resides in Fredericksburg, VA, where she earned a BA in Studio Art at the University of Mary Washington in 2020, and currently works as a ceramics studio technician and art instructor at LibertyTown Arts Workshop. Her work has been displayed in galleries in Fredericksburg, Richmond, and New York City, and she has attended artist workshops and residencies across the East Coast. When she’s not in the studio you can find her rock climbing, baking, thru-hiking, or bingeing a good show.
