One Day Specialty Workshop Exploring New Ways to use Glazes with Neal Reed and D.D. Lecky
March 23rd, 10am-4pm, Lunch from 12:30-1:30pm ( lunch provided with workshop)
- With Neal Reed you will explore using different ways to resist and layer glazes using iron tinted wax resist, latex wax resist, detail tape and common stickers. All supplies are included. Recommended to bring several pots to glaze
- With D.D. Lecky you will move beyond dipping as the only way to apply glaze on the surface of a pot. Techniques will include brushing, sponging, and slip trailing glazes as well as how to make dip only glazes brush ready. In addition you will learn how use bubble glazes. Recommended to bring your prefered slip trailing tool and favorite brushes as well as pots to glaze. All other supplies are included.
10-12:30: Resisting and Layering Glazes with Neal Reed
12:30-1:30: Lunch (Panera…menu to be sent out week of class)
1:30-4: New ways to use old glazes with D.D. Lecky
Bring With you:
Pots to glaze (we will have tiles as well, so don’t skip the class if you aren’t making much right now!!)
favorite mug for tea or coffee
Tools needed for class:
Brush (mop brushes, or others you like to work with…we will have some on hand as well)
