Each class will begin with a group critique of the assignment from the previous lesson. Then the class will have a discussion and history lesson on the topic of the day followed by demos and techniques.
The topics will vary and will be ongoing but will include analyzing the form and function of the ceramic topic of the day. The ceramic forms will include: mugs, tea bowls, cups, bowls, lidded vessels, plates, platters, display vessels, going large, hand building mixed with wheel, and so much more.
The prerequisites are completion of and proficiency in Intermediate Ceramics (with Neal Reed), or permission from the instructor (Kevin Rodrigue); the ability to work on and complete all assignments outside of class; and the ability to participate and receive critiques. All tools must be provided by the student. Regularly scheduled class will be held after hours on Sundays at LibertyTown Arts Workshop from 6-8:30 every other week starting October 8.
