I am a Virginia native that knew at an early age wanted to study art. I began my art studies with local tidewater artist Jack Clifton and then began my academic studies at Virginia Commonwealth University where I received a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Illustration. I have continued my education participating in workshops and classes at LibertyTown, the Lorton Workhouse, and the Torpedo Factory where I studied with Bill Harris, Robert Liberace and Patricia Rice.
Most of my inspiration comes from reading literature and listening to music and song lyrics. They provide visual impressions and narratives for me to follow. I also enjoy drawing inspiration from nature while walking through quiet woods and fields.
